Team Acrux, represented by Ramesh Swain and his wife Lakhi Swain, won the team title in the 8th Corporate Golf Tournament, which concluded here at the BGC (Bhubaneswar Golf Club) Course yesterday. Team MCL (Mahanadi Coalfields Limited), comprising Bhagabat Nayak, Srikant Pradhan, S D Prasad and P K Jena finished runners-up in the three-day tournament.
In the individual category, Srikant Pradhan of MCL bagged the title as well as the prize for the longest drive, while Ajay Negi of BGC pocketed the best gross title along with the prize for the nearest-to-pin category. Bhagabat Nayak of MCL became the runner-up in the main category.
In the 17 to 24 handicap category, Sunil Taneja of Toyota (Bhubaneswar) emerged winner while JB Pany of Enmark (Bhubaneswar) finished runner-up. Lakhi Swain, who won the ladies` title on the opening day, was adjudged the best lady golfer of the tournament.
Altogether 16 corporate houses from Jamshedpur, Talcher, Paradip and Bhubaneswar participated in the tournament. These include Ace Commercial, ACRUX, Dhamra Port Company Limited, Enmark, ESSPL, ESPIRIT TOYOTA, Golden Anchor, IMFA, Indian Oil, Mahanadi Coalfields, Paradip Port Trust, Royal Hotels, Tata Steel, Tinplate Company, Versatile Constructions, Z Estates Private Limited.
